Pru Green is a ceramic artist who has worked for over 60 years with earthenware clay decorated with coloured slips. Each piece is hand thrown with precision and hand decorated with the utmost care.
In 1966 she bought a wheelwright's premises with a small convenience store, petrol pumps and a milk delivery service, and transformed them into the now well-known Alvingham Pottery, where she ran a café alongside a ceramic workshop and selling space. Throughout her potting career Pru has managed large teams of ceramicists, training young blood who have since become known potters in their own right.
From Lincolnshire Pru moved to Wales and in Carmarthen set up Gwili Pottery, another working studio and selling space. Gwili is still running and is more successful than ever.
In search of a drier climate Pru headed for East Anglia and settled in Wivenhoe where she opened The Sentinel Gallery which she ran until the end of January 2018. Pru has now retired from running her gallery but continues to make her exquisite pottery for us but at a much more leisurely pace!

We always have a good selection of Pru's wonderful ceramics available. If you can't find what you are looking for please get in touch and I'll check current stock. All items on the website can be delivered. If you want to place an order from outside the UK please contact me first as restrictions do apply.

IMPORTANT UPDATE
Pru's work flew off the shelves in the run up to Christmas, and my stocks are now very low. Pru took an extended break over Christmas to move house, but she is now back at her wheel and I'm expecting new stock late January/early February. If you would like to place an order please get in touch.
