Clare Curtis
Printmaker
Clare Curtis is a Suffolk based illustrator and printmaker. Chiefly a lino cutter but also producing lithographs and screen prints, her work reflects her love of British 20th century art and design and although subject matter can vary inevitably, a love of plants and garden forms find their way into most of her work.
Some of Clare's earliest memories are of Thaxted in Essex where she spent her early years, but it was in Felixstowe, Suffolk, where she grew up and where she is now based. Clare studied illustration and printmaking at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee. After spending some time in London developing a career in illustration, she returned to her home town of Felixstowe to pursue her love of printmaking. Clare has exhibited all around the UK, from Essex and Suffolk to Devon to Northumberland. She also continues to use her illustrative skills working with individuals who share her enthusiasm for printing, illustration and design.
